People.com online editor Janet Mock, National Center for Transgender Equality President Mara Keisling and actress Laverne Cox are among those appearing in a campaign addressing transgender election issues.

The campaign features transgender Americans discussing some of the challenges they face at the polls and is sponsored by the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).

In one ad, Mock says new voter ID laws could disenfranchise up to 25,000 transgender American next month.

“This election, more than 25,000 transgender people could lose their right to vote because of new voter ID laws,” Mock says in the 1-minute video. “Even if you've never had a problem voting before, please check your voter registration information to make sure that your name and address match your ID. And if you have the time and resources, update your photo ID and gender marker.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

Mock came out transgender 2 years ago in an It Gets Better video.
