Actor Josh Charles believes everyone
should be treated equally when it comes to marriage.
The 41-year-old Baltimore native is
helping to raise funds for Question 6, the November 6 ballot
initiative which asks voters to either uphold or repeal a gay
marriage law approved by lawmakers.
Charles, who is best know for playing
Will Gardner on the CBS legal drama The Good Wife, recorded a
video for TheFour.com, the nascent group working on marriage equality
issues in the four states where it will be on the ballot this year.
“Equality is important for everyone,
period,” Charles says in the clip. “To me, I think everyone
should be equal under the law. And there should be no difference
between anybody: gay, straight, black, white, Jewish, Christian,
Asian. Doesn't matter to me, everybody should be treated the same
equally. I just have always believed strongly in that.” (The
video is embedded on this page. Visit

The actor recorded the video during a
New York City fundraiser in support of Maryland's marriage equality
law. The star-studded party included Susan Sarandon, John
Waters, Ed Norton, Thomas Roberts, Sandra Bernhard and Russell
Simmons.
