Actor Eric Roberts, Olympian Greg
Louganis and TV personality Carson Kressley are among the celebrities
featured in the coming out documentary Out In The Open.
The film is the work of Matthew Smith,
who remained closeted professionally as an actor and director for
fear of losing jobs. Smith's film features openly gay and allied
celebrities and everyday folks talking about coming out.
“How do I identify myself? No one's
asked me that before,” Kressley says in a trailer for the film.
“Am I suppose to be like a G, an L, a B or a T?”
“No. I am a big fat G. Yes. I'm as
G as you can be,” Kressley adds.
Producers of the film have launched a
Kickstarter
campaign in hopes of raising $75,000 in 10 days to complete the film.
“There's always a greater purpose for
you to be here,” Louganis says in the trailer.
“I still am a Christian and I still
believe in God and all that stuff but I really do think we're put
here for a reason and we're made in his image,” actor-singer Josh
Strickland says. “And there is no reason why we should feel like
we can't be who we are.” (The video is embedded on this page.
