Stephen Baldwin believes the U.S.
Constitution prohibits gay marriage.
In a Tea Party Report video
filed from the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Tampa, the
46-year-old Baldwin, the youngest of the Baldwin brothers, was asked
his reasons for opposing marriage equality.
“The issue of gay marriage?”
comedian Susie Sampson asked the actor in the video.
“Anybody who wants people to change
what they believe or change the rules of the Constitution in order to
support ...” Baldwin began.
“Gay marriage isn't in the
Constitution,” Sampson noted. “Which laws come out of the
Constitution that do that?”
“I'm not sure specifically,”
Baldwin answered.
Sampson also interviewed a woman who
believes most gay folks also oppose such unions.
“I have a lot of gay friends. They
themselves are against same-sex marriage,” the seated woman said.
“They're against themselves?” a
surprised Sampson asked.
“Yes,” the woman answered
“Wow. I would love to meet them,”
Sampson replied. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit
