British singer Robbie Williams has
suggested that he might be pulling a “John Travolta” by having a
baby with his wife Ayda Field, a reference to persistent gay rumors
both men have faced.
On the GQ Men of the Year Awards red
carpet in London, Williams asked a reporter from Showbiz 411 if she
knew the name of a man on the carpet, saying: “That would be who I
would go out with if I was gay.”
In accepting the award for Icon of the
Year, Williams returned to the gay theme by making a joke at
Travolta's expense.
“I was googling myself today and the
first search comes up with is 'Robbie Williams gay.' And I've got a
wife, she's pregnant so that's put paid to that one, then. Doing the
full John Travolta,” William said.
Williams
added a pitch for his forthcoming solo album titled Take The
Crown scheduled for a November 5 release.
