Gay student Jordan Addison received
more than $10,000 worth of free car body work thanks to a Roanoke,
Virginia auto shop.
Addison, a student at Radford
University, had his car vandalized four times between March and May.
“The first time there were some
homophobic slurs keyed into the side of it,” Addison told CBS
affiliate WDBJ-TV. “Then the second time I had 'die' keyed into
it.”
Richard Henegar Jr., the manager at
Quality Auto Paint and Body, decided to step in and give the student
a break.
“Once I saw the vandalism that was
done to it I said, 'That's uncalled for. We're gonna fix your car.
That's the least we can do,'” said
Henegar.
Henegar's shop gave the car new tires,
a new paint job, tinted windows, a security system and a new stereo.
He estimates the upgrades cost over $10,000.
Other businesses which pitched in
include Parts Unlimited, Advance Auto Parts, Moon's Auto Body, Rice
Toyota, Val's Automotive, The Rod Shop, B&C Exterminating, Twists
& Turns, AJ's Landscaping and Sunnybrook Auto Spa.
