Lesbian chefs have taken over Bravo's reality show Top Chef. The cable network's 4th season of Top Chef includes three lesbian contestants vying for the title of top chef, including longtime partners Jennifer Biesty and Zoi Antonitsas. A third contestant, Lisa Fernandes, is also gay.

Partners Biesty and Antonitsas will compete against each other to win cooking challenges and the ultimate top chef title.

In an online interview with After Ellen's Dara Nai, Biesty says of her four year relationship, “I was a chef at a restaurant called Bizou. When Zoi moved from Seattle to San Francisco she came in looking for a job. ...It was love at first sight. [However,] we were just friends because we were both in relationships for about four years. Then [we] ended up getting out of those relationships and we met back up. I pursued her, and four year later we're still together.”

Top chef contestant Lisa Fernandes lives in New York City. Lisa talks about cooking in her interview video posted on the show's website. “I've always been interested in cooking,” she says. “[When I was young] I always would set the table, play restaurant... When I was old enough to get a job, I started in the restaurants and here I am.”

Season four of Top Chef gets cooking March 12th on Bravo.

Showtime's ground breaking The L Word will come to an end after season six in 2009. The L Word, which debuted in January 2004, follows a group of lesbian and bisexual women in Los Angeles as they struggle with their day-to-day lives.

The show's premier came hot on the heels of Showtime's hit gay series Queer As Folk and quickly became a favorite among lesbians. But the show surprised by appealing to both gay and straight audiences.

The series was groundbreaking in its portrayals of lesbian and bisexual women. It was the first episodic drama to feature an all lesbian cast. Additionally, over the years the show has addressed many difficult subjects affecting GLBT people, including gay civil rights, closeted celebrities, depression, and transgender issues.

Jennifer Beals (Flashdance) and Cybill Shepherd (The Last Picture Show, Moonlighting) star in The L Word.

Catch season five of The L Word on Showtime Sundays at 9PM ET/PT.
