Former GOP presidential candidate Rick
Santorum has tweeted that he will participate in next week's
“Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day”
Next Wednesday's event is the
brainchild of former Arkansas Governor and Fox News host Mike
Huckabee.
“I'm joining @GovMikeHuckabee to
support @ChickFilA Aug 1. Stand w us!” Santorum tweeted.
“Help us fight for traditional
families and eat chicken at the same time,” he followed up in a
Facebook post.
Huckabee
is organizing Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day to counter the
criticism Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy has received over his
recent comments in opposition to gay marriage.

“I have been incensed at the
vitriolic assaults on the Chick Fil-A company because the CEO, Dan
Cathy, made comments recently in which he affirmed his view that the
Biblical view of marriage should be upheld,” Huckabee wrote.
Santorum also tweeted, “With two of
my boys, Enjoying chick-in-strips and an awesome peach shake at
Chick-fil-A. See you here next Wednesday!” and “Three older kids
@sarah_santorum @dansantorum @johnsantorum just joined us at
Chick-fil-A. They like Chick-fil-A sauce on everything!”
