Luka Rocco Magnotta, the Canadian porn
actor suspected of murdering his boyfriend, was arrested Monday in
Berlin.
The AP is reporting that police
arrested Magnotta after conducting an international manhunt.
Magnotta reportedly did not put up a
struggle when he was apprehended by arresting officers at an Internet
cafe, saying only “You got me.”
The owner of the cafe told the AP that
one of his employees recognized Magnotta from news reports and
flagged down a passing police car.
Police suspect the 29-year-old Magnotta
fled Canada for Europe on May 26.
He is believed to be the man seen in a
disturbing video circulating online. As music from the film American
Psycho plays, the man is seen stabbing another man with an ice
pick and dismembering him. He has been dubbed “Canadian Psycho”
by the media.
Last week, a human foot was sent to the
headquarters of Canada's ruling Conservative Party. A hand was
discovered at an Ottawa post office; a torso in a garbage dump in
Montreal, outside Magnotta's apartment. The remains are believed to
belong to Jun Li, 33, a man who was dating Magnotta. Canadian police
suspect Magnotta of committing the murder.
