Jane Lynch, who plays coach Sue Sylvester on the Fox musical-comedy Glee, is overjoyed with her married life.

The 51-year-old Lynch plays a mother superior in the The Three Stooges, which opened in theaters on Friday.

“As soon as I put [the habit] on, I felt like the mother superior in The Sound of Music,” Lynch told The Huffington Post about her role.

Lynch's 2010 marriage to Lara Embry made her one out of only a handful of Hollywood stars to marry a person of the same sex.

When asked how the marriage was going, Lynch answered: “Oh, really good. We're having a great time and my daughter [from Embry's previous relationship] has settled in so well, loves her friends and loves being in school. We have a beautiful little suburban life.”

She added that the presidential races has depressed her.

“It's gotten so horrible that they're talking about controlling what goes on inside a woman's body and what she does with it and it's infuriating that it's even getting air time. I guess what's important about it is it's revealing that there are people out there who do believe they should be able to regulate the awesome power of a woman to have a child.”
