Kirk Cameron's anti-gay marriage
comments have been criticized by the group CCOKC.
In a new PSA, the group takes a swipe
at Cameron for telling CNN host Piers Morgan that being gay
is “unnatural” and “detrimental, and ultimately destructive to
so many of the foundations of civilization” and that he would not
be supportive if one of his six sons told him he was gay.
Cameron,
a Christian conservative and former child star of the ABC sitcom
Growing Pains, has
since said that his comments got him “stoned, so to speak.”
“I'm
a CCOKC,” says Maureen Flannigan, who appeared in Out of
this World as a child, in the
group's PSA released Thursday on Funny or Die.
“I'm
a CCOKC, too,” says Adventures in Babysitting's
Keith Coogan.
“I'm
a proud member of CCOKC,” adds Kenn Michael, who appeared in The
Parent 'Hood.
“Child
Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron,” Flannigan explains.
Mr. Belvedere's
Brice Beckham starts, “Together we're pledging to raise awareness
about a serious threat to our civil rights,” and Coogan finishes,
“Kirk Cameron's stupid opinions.”
“Our
experience in the entertainment industry showed us that most
homosexuals are kind, hard working people,” Jeremy Licht of The
Hogan Family says.
“Sure
some of them are assholes,” Charles in Charge's
Josie Davis says.
“Neil Patrick
Harris,” Coogan says.
“Neil
Patrick Harris,” Michael repeats. (The video is embedded in the
