Jeremy Renner says he's not gay and
doesn't appreciate people speculating about his personal life.
In a cover story with The Hollywood
Reporter, the 41-year-old Renner discussed his upcoming
make-or-break moment as the new face of the Bourne franchise
and a starring role in the Avengers.
When the glossy broached the subject of
his personal life (he's been matched up in the tabloids with everyone
from Jessica Simpson to Scarlett Johansson) and Internet rumors that
he's gay, Renner roundly rejected the claims.
“I want my personal life to be
personal, and it's not fucking true,” Renner said. “And I don't
care if you're talking about things that are true, you're still
talking about my personal life. How about I go peek in your window,
take that underwear you wore last night, whose husband you were
fucking, and shove that in the megaphone throughout your
neighborhood? How does that feel?”
In an earlier interview with fashion
glossy Details,
Renner refused to address rumors that he was in a romantic
relationship with best friend Kristoffer Winters.
“I don't pay attention to that
horseshit. Build 'em up to bring 'em down?” Renner said of
celebrity culture. “I'm not going on that train, my son. I'm not
going on that train. I'll walk. I'll take a bike. I'd rather just
not be popular.”
