Sex in the City's Mario Cantone has said Kirk Cameron can kiss his ass.

The 52-year-old Cantone, known for playing Anthony Marentino in the HBO dramedy Sex and the City, opened his visit with the women of ABC's The View by addressing Cameron's recent anti-gay remarks.

“I've been away,” Cantone announced as he joined the women on the show's sofa. “I was in Key West with Kirk Cameron. Yes, that's where I was.”

Cantone, who last year married his partner of 20 years, musical theater director Jerry Dixon, at a ceremony officiated by pastor Jay Bakker, the son of televangelist Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Bakker Messner, was poking fun at remarks Cameron made during an interview on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight.

Cameron, 41, told Piers Morgan the being gay is “unnatural” and “ultimately destructive” to society, and that he would not be supportive if one of his six sons told him he was gay.

“I love how he actually said, 'You know my gay friends are supportive of me,'” Cantone continued. “Why would you want gay friends when you feel that way? And why would gay friends want to be friends with you?”

“Kiss my ass, Kirk Cameron,” he roared to a thunderous applause. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
