Lady Gaga, Glee, Michael Fassbender and Weekend are among the winners of the Gay & Lesbian Entertainment Critics' (GALECA) third annual Dorian Awards.

The group named gay romance film Weekend Film of the Year.

In the film, Russell (played by Tom Cullen) randomly picks up Glen (Chris New), a struggling artist, at a nightclub on a Friday. The pair unexpectedly spend most of the next 48 hours together – having sex, getting drunk and sharing stories. The weekend resonates throughout their lives.

Glee – often described as the “gayest show on TV” – and Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour tied in the TV Musical Program of the Year category.

Thirty-four-year-old Shame star Michael Fassbender won the We're Wilde About You Rising Star Award, while Kathy Griffin took home the Wilde Wit of the Year Award.

Other winners include the San Francisco AIDS crisis film We Were Here, named best documentary; Modern Family, named best TV comedy; and Meryl Streep, who won best performance for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.

GALECA was formed in 2009 and its 40-or-so members review and write on film, television and pop culture.
