Singer George Michael is preparing to
leave the Vienna, Austria hospital that has been treating his
pneumonia over the past month, the UK's Mirror reported.
The 48-year-old Michael reportedly will
be released within the next couple of days and fly directly to his
London home.
“Christmas at home,” boyfriend Fadi
Fawaz tweeted on Tuesday. “I cannot stop smiling today, the best
day ever. He is getting better and better. Nothing to worry about,
happy days.”
Michael was rushed to hospital on
November 20 after falling ill with severe pneumonia, forcing the
singer to postpone the remainder of his Symphonica European tour.
Early reports suggested Michael's
condition was very sever and would require months' worth of
hospitalization.
Fawaz, a 38-year-old London-based
celebrity hair stylist, has reportedly remained by the star's bedside
throughout his ordeal. Also keeping vigil were George's father
Kyriacos Panayiotou, 75, and his sisters Melanie, 49, and Yioda, 53.
Michael announced his new symphony
orchestra-backed tour in May during a press conference at London's
Royal Opera House. He also said he would be recording a new album
during breaks on the tour.
