Michele Bachmann's anti-gay views are
prominently featured in a Lady Gaga Not Born That Way video
spoof.
The parody, which was uploaded to
YouTube in October, alters Lady Gaga's gay anthem from one of
acceptance to rejection.
While Lady Gaga used a neon-pink
triangle to frame her face in the opening sequence of Born This
Way, Bachmann is seen inside an outline of the state of
Minnesota.
“This is the platform of Michele
Bachmann. It doesn't matter if you're tea partier or an unborn
baby's baby, put your guns up 'cause Michele Bachmann is running for
president of the U.S. of A.”
The nearly 4-minute parody, written by
Noel Wells, who also stars in the video as Michele Bachmann, pokes
fun at the GOP candidate's opposition to gay rights.
“I grew in the Christian faith,
beliefs I hold even today. Then I got married even though some would
say that my husband Marcus is really ...”
“Great at dancing,” Mr. Bachmann
interrupts.
“We're on the straight track for a
tea party USA. I'm pro laws and believe in traditional family. It's
gotta be a man and woman for it to be okay.”
“Don't be a gay, get therapy. Don't
be a gay, get therapy,” Bachmann sings instead of “Don't be a
drag, just be a queen.” (The video is embedded in the right panel
