Glee, True Blood and Modern Family are among readers' favorite television shows with LGBT character.

In the latest issue of gay glossy The Advocate, readers ranked their favorite television shows.

The shows, listed in no particular order, include ABC's comedy Happy Endings, which features non-stereotypical gay character Max (played by Adam Pally), ABC Family's teenage drama Pretty Little Liars, which features lesbian character Emily (Shay Mitchelle), and HBO's supernatural drama True Blood, which features several gay, lesbian and bisexual characters.

FX's thriller American Horror Story includes Zachary Quinto as the ghost of a gay interior designer.

ABC's comedy Modern Family features gay dads Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson).

Fox's musical-comedy Glee includes four gay or bisexual characters, including Kurt (Chris Colfer), Blaine (Darren Criss), Santana (Naya Rivera), and Brittany (Heather Morris). Guest characters Sebastian (Grant Gustin) and Dave (Max Adler) are also gay.

Also listed are Fox's American Dad, ABC's Grey's Anatomy, CBS' The Good Wife, HBO's Game of Thrones, Fox's Bones, HBO's Hung, NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, TNT's HawthoRNe, Showtime's Nurse Jackie, Fox's The Simpsons, Showtime's Shameless, Starz's Torchwood, TeenNick's Degrassi and Starz's Spartacus: Vengeance.
