Lady Gaga, Ellen DeGeneres and Ricky
Martin top a list of the most powerful LGBT people on Twitter.
The Huffington Post's list of
who wields the most influence on Twitter ranks the top 30 people on
the social network based on the celebrity's following.
Lady Gaga tops the list with over 15
million, followed by Ellen DeGeneres with 8 million and Ricky Martin
with 4 million.
Ranking on followers is “democratic
and allows easy comparison between individuals,” the Huff Post
wrote in announcing their list. “While not a measure of wealth,
it's certainly a measure of voice, and while certain LGBT celebrities
don't have Twitter accounts, it could be argued they are less
influential because of it.”
