British actor Tom Hardy, who'll play
villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, has dismissed gay
rumors as “doesn't do it for me.”
The 33-year-old actor is best known in
the United States for his roles in Inception, Star Trek
Nemesis and RocknRolla,
the 2008 film in which he played Handsome Bob. He currently stars in
the action film Warrior.
Last
year, Hardy allegedly told UK tabloid NOW
Magazine that as a young man
in his twenties he had experimented with other men.
“As a boy? Of course I have,” he
said.
“I'm
an actor, for fuck's sake. I'm an artist. I've played with
everything and everyone. But I'm not into men sexually.”
In a
new interview with UK glossy Marie
Claire, Hardy reiterated
that he had been misquoted.
“I
have never put my penis in a man,” he told the magazine. “I've
never had a cock in my arse, and I have no fucking desire for it. If
that's what you like cool. But it doesn't do it for me.”
The
glossy wrote: “He's irritated his words were taken out of context
but concedes, 'one thing worse than being talked about is not being
talked about.'”
