Comedian Kathy Griffin has
not-so-subtly hinted that Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's husband
Marcus Bachmann is gay.
The Emmy-winning Griffin made her
remarks during an appearance on CBS' Late Late Show.
Griffin alluded to controversies
surrounding the Bachmanns, including allegations that their Christian
counseling centers attempt to “pray away the gay” and Michele
Bachmann's long record of opposing gay rights.
While discussing her upcoming cabler
Bravo special with host Craig Ferguson, Griffin said it was supposed
to be called Pray the Gay Back, but Bravo execs changed it to
Kathy Griffin: Pants Off.
“Marcus Bachmann is one of my new
favorite targets, he's Michele Bachmann's husband,” Griffin said.
“He's very anti-gay and LGBT rights. But it's odd, because if you
look at him on YouTube, it's almost as if he himself is, um, or, it's
as if ...”
“Be careful, Kathy,” Ferguson
interrupted.
“I would say that Marcus Bachmann
reminds me a lot of the type of men who come see my live shows,”
the gay icon said to applause from the audience. (The video is
