Singer Adam Lambert says he's lucky to
be able to use his celebrity for good causes.
The 29-year-old Lambert was honored
earlier this month by Equality California (EQCA), the state's
largest gay rights group, at its annual Equality Awards fundraiser in
Beverly Hills, California.

with the group's Equality Idol Award.
In a recently uploaded YouTube clip,
Lambert talks on the red carpet about using his celebrity for good
causes.
“Shortly after American Idol,
as things progressed with my career, I became very aware of the
importance of being really involved and using my celebrity for a good
cause. Started working with The Trevor Project a lot and other
charities,” Lambert told Icon News. “I just feel like that's,
you know, if we're lucky enough to have that type of visibility we
should use it. And that's what I've been trying to do.” (The

Lambert also said that he was wearing
Galliano, but added that he bough the outfit before designer John
Galliano was arrested over alleged anti-Semitic remarks he made in a
Paris bar.
