News Corporation, the parent company of the right-leaning cabler Fox News, will publish a magazine devoted to gay and lesbian weddings.

The inaugural issue of glossy Wedding Pride: The Magazine for Gay and Lesbian Wedding Planning will hit newstands in September.

The magazine is being published by CNG Publications, a unit of New York-based Community Newspaper Group, which is owned by News Corporation, gay weekly Gay City News reported. The Community Newspaper Group publishes local papers The Brooklyn Paper, the Bronx Times-Reporter, the Brooklyn Courier-Life and TimesLedger Newspapers.

Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation also owns the New York Post. The tabloid opposed passage of the law which made New York the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.

And Fox News has been criticized for its coverage of the law's start in July. According to Equality Matters, MSNBC devoted six full segments to the topic, CNN ten and Fox News zero.

While Wedding Pride will adopt CNG's hyper-local business model – an initial 35,000 run will likely remain confined to the gay-friendly communities of Chelsea, Park Slope, Fire Island, Montclair, South Orange and Asbury Park, gay blog Queerty.com notes – it most likely will be the group's most expensive ad buy with prices ranging from $850 for a quarter page ad to $5,400 for the first spread.
