Denis O'Hare, who plays Vampire King of
Mississippi Russell Edgington on the HBO vampire drama True Blood,
married his boyfriend on Thursday in New York City.
“Okay. It happened,” O'Hare
tweeted to his more than 4,000 followers on Thursday. “Hugo
[Redwood] and I just got married.”
Eight hours later, he tweeted a
photograph of the happy couple along with the sentiment: “Hugo and
I in the courthouse … Mr. And Mr.”
In season 3 of True Blood,
O'Hare's flamboyant Edgington was entombed in concrete after he lost
his partner of 700 years, Talbot, played by Theo Alexander.
However, O'Hare, 49, recently told The
Hollywood Reporter that he's considering returning in season 4.
“I left them on a high,” he said.
“They have been very, very nice to me, and they tell me that they
think I'm going to come back.”
“Someone discussed a possible idea
with me, which, of course, I can't tell you,” he said. “But it's
a very cool idea. It's not far fetched, but it's not something that
you would see coming.”
O'Hare talked about his long-term
relationship in an interview last year with gay glossy The
Advocate.
“Hugo and I have a pretty fantastic
relationship,” O'Hare
said. “We definitely have our frictions here and there, but we
get along really, really well. At 10 years we have a great amount of
mutual respect for each other, so we rarely descend into any kind of
disrespectful sniping.”
“Hugo,” he added, “is an interior
decorator.”
O'Hare can also be seen in cabler FX's
upcoming American Horror Story.
