Beverly McClellan, who reached stardom
competing on the NBC reality contest The Voice, is getting
hitched, and Frenchie Davis will sing at the wedding.
Openly lesbian singers McClellan and
Vicci Martinez faced off against Dia Frampton and Javier Colon on the
show's finals. Javier Colon ultimately took home the show's $100,000
prize and a recording contract.
The show's top eight finalists, Davis
and openly gay singer Nakia Reynoso included, kicked off the The
Voice's Live Nation tour on Wednesday at Los Angeles' Gibson
Amphitheater. Other stops on the summer tour include Las Vegas' MGM
Grand Garden Arena, Chicago's Rosemont Theatre, Boston's Bank of
America Pavilion and New York's Beacon Theatre.
McClellan
told CNN that she loves her girlfriend and the couple is
“absolutely” planning to marry.
“It's not who you love, it's that you
love,” McClellan said. “I love my girlfriend.”
“And I'm singing at the wedding,”
Frenchie Davis said. “Beverly is totally getting married.”
“It's really exciting … I think,
for not just gay people, for straight people, for all people,”
Davis added.
The Voice's Live Nation tour
hits New York, which recently legalized gay marriage, on August 6,
but McClellan did not announce a wedding date.
