Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is
keeping his opinion about whether gay and lesbian couples should be
allowed to marry to himself.
The 23-year-old Heisman trophy winner
appeared last year in a pro-life ad for the Christian conservative
group Focus on the Family.
In the ad, his mother, Pam Tebow, calls
her youngest child her “miracle baby.”
“I call him my miracle baby,” Pam
Tebow says as she holds a photo of her son as an infant up to the
camera. “He almost didn't make it into this world.” (The video

The pro-life ad, which ran during last
year's Super Bowl at a cost of $3 million and was panned as
“confusing” by critics, secured Tim Tebow's position as a
Christian celebrity.
The ad also ruffled feathers in the gay
community because Focus is virulently anti-gay.
But whether the professional athlete
agrees with Focus on gay rights issues isn't something he's talking
about.
In a recent interview with The
Washington Post reporter Sally Quinn for the paper's On Faith
blog, Tebow was shushed when Quinn brought up the question.
“Only once, when asked about same-sex
marriage, did his publicist, on the other end of the phone,
protectively jump in to object that that was off message,” Quinn
reported.
Tebow's non-response comes just weeks
after former
New York Giants wide receiver David Tyree said gay marriage would
lead to “anarchy.”
