Ryan Murphy, creator of the Fox
musical-comedy Glee, on Friday announced he's engaged to be
married.
Murphy discussed his recent engagement
during an appearance on the radio
program On
Air with Ryan Seacrest.
When asked about his love life, Murphy
answered: “I'm with a great fellow now who I've known for 15 years.
We just got engaged and I'm very excited about it.”
Murphy did not disclose wedding plans
or the name of his fiance.
The Golden Globe winner also talked
about his disappointment that the coming out transgender drama
Pretty/Handsome wasn't picked up by cabler F/X.
The show, originally titled 4 oz.,
which refers to the average weight of a man's penis, starred Joseph
Fiennes as a married father of two sons who discovers he's a
transsexual and revolved around his subsequent pursuit of transition.
Murphy co-created the drama with writer Brad Falchuk, whom Murphy
has also collaborated with on Glee and the medical drama
Nip/Tuck.
“I had just done a pilot after
Nip/Tuck that I was convinced was going to go is this great
thing with Joe Finnes called Pretty/Handsome about a
transsexual gynecologist that I thought was going to be a mainstream
hit. And I think it was a little bit too racy, it didn't get picked
up,” Murphy said.
“I was kind of shocked,” he added.
