Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Schuester on the Fox musical-comedy hit Glee, says he doesn't mind the rumor that he's gay.

The 32-year-old former Broadway star told the UK's Daily Mail that he's not gay.

“I sing and dance for a living and there is that connotation associated with me,” Morrison said. “I don't care, I know the truth.”

He added that being one of the few openly straight actors on Broadway gave him “a lot of options.”

In a cover interview with gay glossy Out, Morrison said he was proud of the show's gay inclusion, particularly the role of choir boy Kurt Hummel, played by Chris Colfer.

Mr. Schuester “is very supportive. He has such a love for Kurt and is instrumental in getting him to be who he is. I'm proud of our show for that relationship.”

“The episode about the birds and the bees really got to me. I never thought about how different the conversation is between a father and a gay son or daughter. That was so beautifully done. That moment in television could change lives. A lot of the storyline is what Ryan Murphy wanted as a kid. He writes through Kurt. I'm so proud of it,” he added.
