Desperate Housewives alum Mark
Deklin has joined the cast of Sex and the City executive
producer Darren Star's Good Christians Bitches pilot.
The ABC dramedy project based on Kim
Gatlin's 2008 novel of the same name stars 36-year-old Louise Bibb
(Iron Man, Iron Man 2) in the lead role of Amanda, a mother of
two who after the death of her billionaire husband returns to her
Dallas neighborhood, where she is reunited with her former
classmates.
In
reporting the addition, Deadline Hollywood described
Deklin's Blake Caruth as a “rugged, metrosexual cowboy married to
one of the classmates, Cricket” (played by Miriam Shor).
According
to gay male entertainment website AfterElton.com, Blake's
sexuality is an open secret among the women of the tight-knit
community.
Also on board the
project is Broadway diva Kristin Chenoweth, who plays the role of
Darlene, the ringleader of the group.
In the pilot
script, Darlene spies Blake holding hands with his boyfriend, Booth
Becker. Casting for Booth's character has yet to be announced.
Deklin,
43, has recurring roles on CBS' Hawaii Five-0
and TV Land's Hot in Cleveland.
