Matthew Morrison, who plays Will
Schuester on the Fox musical-comedy hit Glee, says he's proud
of the show's gay storyline involving Chris Colfer's character.
Colfer's Kurt Hummel has found love in
the show's second season. In last week's episode, the choir boy
landed his first boyfriend, Dalton Academy Warblers frontman Blaine
Anderson, played by newcomer Darren Criss.
Their romance β more
specifically their first kiss β was
booed by Saturday Night Live alum Victoria Jackson.
In
an interview with gay glossy Out, Morrison said he was
proud of the show's gay inclusion.
Mr. Schuester βis very supportive.
He has such a love for Kurt and is instrumental in getting him to be
who he is. I'm proud of our show for that relationship. The episode
about the birds and the bees really got to me. I never thought about
how different the conversation is between a father and a gay son or
daughter. That was so beautifully done. That moment in television
could change lives. A lot of the storyline is what Ryan Murphy
wanted as a kid. He writes through Kurt. I'm so proud of it.β
Morrison added that was thrilled to
work with singer-songwriter Elton John.
