Saturday Night Live alum
Victoria Jackson has defended saying a kiss between Chris Colfer and
Darren Criss on the Fox musical-comedy Glee sickened her.
The 51-year-old entertainer sparked
outrage when she attacked the popular show.
In the recent episode Original Song,
Criss' Blaine Anderson confessed his feelings for Kurt Hummel, played
by Colfer. The pair kissed after Blaine said Kurt's singing of the
song Blackbird had moved him.
The kiss came after months of
speculation on whether the pair, who sing alongside each other in the
Dalton Academy Warblers, would become romantically involved.
In
an op-ed titled The
Muslims Next Door
published Friday on the socially conservative website
WorldNetDaily.com, Jackson railed against the show.
“Did you see Glee this week?”
she rhetorically asked. “Sickening! And, besides shoving the gay
thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians – again!
I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of Glee –
what's your agenda? One-way tolerance?”
Jackson also claimed liberals side with
progressives, communists, globalists and Muslims who “want to
destroy America.”
Appearing Monday on HLN's Showbiz
Tonight, Jackson defended herself from her critics who have
labeled her homophobic.
When asked if she believed she was
homophobic, Jackson responded, “That's a cute little buzzword of
the liberal agenda,” and then added: “Basically the Bible says
homosexuality is a sin.”
“The reason the Bible tells us what
is a sin is to point us to the savior and show us we need one, Jesus
Christ,” she said. “And I've noticed that the liberal agenda is
anti-Christ – I mean, anti-Jesus.”
She also suggested networks should
concentrate on celibacy programs instead of “trying to make kids
gay.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page.)
