Darren Criss, who plays out-and-proud
Dalton Academy student Blaine Anderson on the Fox musical-comedy
Glee, says he's ready to kiss Chris Colfer, who plays gay
student Kurt Hummel.
On last week's episode, Criss'
character kissed Lea Michele, who plays the Broadway-bound diva
Rachel Berry, which led him to question whether he was bisexual. (A
second kiss proved him to be gay.)
In an interview with Access
Hollywood, Criss was asked if he's ready for a kiss with Colfer.
“We'll see, we'll see,” Criss
responded. “I mean, yeah.”
“The thing is they've set up a
beautiful kind of foundation for that relationship and if and when
that happens I hope that it would be really lovely and really on
point,” Criss said.
“Yeah, I'm all about it,” he added.
“I just hope that it's warranted, you know.”
Criss added that he had no reservations
with playing a gay teen on television.
“Obviously, there are
social-political connotations of playing a gay character, especially
as a straight actor, but I really find it no different than – and
I've said this before – Max Adler, who plays a homophobic
football-playing bully, which couldn't be farther from who he is, and
Heather Morris, who plays, you know, like a dumb cheerleader, also a
character.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this
