Author and film producer Perry Moore
died on Thursday after he was found unconscious in his New York City
apartment, the Associated Press reported.
The 39-year-old Moore is the author of
Hero, a book about a gay teenage superhero, and an executive
producer of The Chronicles of Narnia films. Hero won a
Lambda Literary Award best novel prize.
Police say Moore was found unconscious
in the bathroom of his Greenwich Village apartment. He died later in
hospital. Investigators say they do not suspect foul play.
Hunter Hill, Moore's live-in partner
and co-director on the Sissy Spacek drama Lake City, found
Moore's body at 9:30AM.
Moore's father, Bill Moore, told the
New York Daily News that he was shocked.
“We're in shock,” Bill Moore said.
“I spoke to my son the night before. He was in a great, great
mood. No one was expecting this. We're so sad. He's been able to
reach out and touch a lot of people.”
The city's medical examiner will
determine the cause of death, police said.
