90210 producers promised and now
they're ready to deliver a real romance for Trevor Donovan's gay
character, Teddy.
After current flame Ian, played by
Canadian pop singer Kyle Riabko, exits the nighttime teenage drama,
Teddy scores during spring break with Tripp, played by 28-year-old
fashion model turned actor-singer Alan Ritchson. (Ritchson is best
known for his portrayal of Aquaman on the CW's Smallville. He
plays football captain Thad Castle on cabler Spike's Blue Mountain
State.)
But it's not love for Teddy – Tripp
isn't looking.
According
to gay entertainment website AfterElton.com, this is where actor
Freddie Smith comes in.
Producers have recruited Smith to play
Marco, who has been described as “hot” and “super-athletic.”
He's also a bit of a romantic. Marco
worries that his working-class background will turn off Teddy, which
leads him to lie to Teddy about his family and the fact that he lives
in East Los Angeles.
After confronting Marco, Teddy follows
him to his rough neighborhood, where he more than holds his own in a
spicy pepper eating contest.
