Black Swan, which stars Natalie
Portman as a lesbian ballerina, and the lesbian moms flick The
Kids Are All Right are among the films nominated on Tuesday for
an Oscar best picture award.
Director Darren Aronofsky's much
heralded thriller Black Swan took 5 nominations, including
nods for best picture and director, while The Kids Are All Right
received 4 nominations.
The film's leading ladies, Annette
Bening and Portman, received best actress nominations for their
roles.
Mark Ruffalo received a best supporting
actor nom for his portrayal of biological father Paul in The Kids
Are All Right. The film's writers, Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart
Blumberg, have also been nominated for best screenplay.
Black Swan is also nominated in
the film editing and cinematography categories.
Other entries in the best picture race
include The Fighter, True Grit, The King's Speech, The Social
Network, Inception, Toy Story 3, 127 Hours and Winter's Bone.
This year's Academy Awards will be
co-hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway on February 27 and
broadcast on ABC.
