Tommy Joe Ratliff has joined the NOH8
Campaign against Proposition 8, California's gay marriage ban.
Ratliff is the 29-year-old bass
guitarist of American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert
The NOH8 Campaign, which is helmed by
photographer-activist Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley,
raises funds and awareness to defeat Proposition 8.
Celebrities and everyday folks are
photographed with their mouths duct taped and the campaign's familiar
“NOH8” slogan often written on one cheek.
Ratliff posed for his photo wearing a
white t-shirt and dark purple eye makeup.
Lambert and Ratliff created an
outpouring of controversy when the pair kissed during an American
Music Awards performance.
Earlier in the week, Lambert, who just
wrapped his global Glam Nation tour, tweeted
support for gay rights group FCKH8's anti-gay bullying efforts.
Other famous faces involved in the NOH8
Campaign include: Isiah
Thomas, men's basketball coach of the Florida International
University Golden Panthers, and his son, Joshua Zeke Thomas,
actress Tori
Spelling and Cindy
McCain, wife of Arizona Senator John McCain, and their daughter
Meghan, a pro-gay Republican.
