Streisand, the cast from Glee and Margaret Chou are among the
artists vying for the 53rd
Annual Grammy Awards.
Lady Gaga, who
has led a one-celebrity campaign against the military's ban on open
gay service, received six nominations, including Album of the
Year and Best Pop Vocal Album nominations for The Fame Monster
and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the single Bad Romance.
“Woah!!!,” Lambert tweeted to his
nearly 800,000 followers. “Just got the news! A Grammy
nomination?!?! I'm floored and honored. There are no words ...”
The 28-year-old, openly gay singer's
hit single What'aya Want From Me received a nomination in the
Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category.
The cast of the Fox musical-comedy hit
series Glee received a Best
Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals nomination for their
cover of Journey's Don't Stop Believin'.
Gay
faves Barbra Streisand and Margaret Chou also scored nominations.
Streisand's Love is the Answer
will compete in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category, while
Cho Dependent has been
nominated in the Best Comedy Album category.
The
Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, February 13.
