Chris Colfer's gay character, Kurt
Hummel, on the Fox musical-comedy Glee is paired up with
Blaine, played by Darren Criss, in an upcoming cover of Hey Soul
Sister.
The bullying storyline playing out on
the second season of the hit show has Hummel running from McKinley
High to join Blaine, an out and proud student, at the Dalton Academy.
Hummel is fleeing from his tormentor
Dave Karofsky, played by Max Adler, after school officials decided
against disciplining the bully. Karofsky – a closeted football
player – threatened
Hummel after kissing him in an earlier episode.
Hummel joins the school's rival glee
club, the all-boys Warblers, who, lead by Blaine, perform a cover of
Hey Soul Sister in an
upcoming episode.
The performance
suggests more than a friendship when Blaine beams at Hummel and
sings, “I knew I wouldn't forget you, and so I went and let you
blow my mind,” to the delight of Hummel. (The video is embedded in

Criss'
cover of Katy Perry's Teenage
Dream
is Glee's
biggest hit yet.
