Willow Palin's homophobic slurs reflect
on Sarah Palin's parenting – or lack thereof – talk show host Joy
Behar has suggested.
Willow, the 16-year-old daughter of the
former Alaska governor, attacked a former classmate, named Tre, on
Sunday.
“Sarah Palin's Alaska, is
failing so hard right now,” Tre wrote on Facebook during the
premiere of the reality series.
Which prompted Willow to respond “Haha
your so gay” and “Your such a faggot.”
Willow and her sister, Bristol, offered
a halfhearted apology, saying that they shouldn't have reacted to
negative comments.
Behar criticized the incident with
openly gay comedian Judy Gold, legendary talk show host Dick Cavett
and In Touch Weekly Senior Editor Erika Vetrini on HLN's the
Joy Behar Show.
“Their camp is saying she [Willow]
doesn't use this language, this is new. I don't believe that, she's
16-years-old. This is the way she speaks,” Vetrini said. “And
when you hear that your child is speaking this way, it's your
responsibility as a parent to inform that's not the proper way to
talk.”
Behar agreed, adding that her use
of the word faggot was “beneath contempt.” (The video is

Gay GOP group GOProud saw things
differently, saying that such words are only homophobic “when it
comes from the daughter of a conservative leader.”
“Make no mistake; this is about
destroying Sarah Palin by any means necessary,” the group said in a
statement.
While the politician turned
conservative celebrity has previously criticized the use of racist
and anti-disability comments, she has yet to speak out on her
daughter's homophobic remarks.
