Max Adler, who plays Chris Colfer's
tormentor on the Fox musical-comedy Glee, suggests he's
looking forward to more gay kisses from Colfer.
On the show, Adler plays Dave Karofsky,
who bullies gay McKinley High student Kurt Hummel, played by Colfer,
presumably because he's gay.
The two shared a kiss on last week's
episode, and speaking to MTV News, Adler, who said the kiss surprised
him, sounded eager for more.
On the episode, Hummel chases down
Karofsky into the men's locker room after Karofsky slams him into a
row of lockers in the hallway.
“Do not push me Hummel,” Karofsky
warns with a clenched fist.
“Hit me, because it's not going to
change who I am,” Hummel responds. “You can't punch the gay out
of me any more than I can punch the ignoramus out of you.”
Karofsky yells, “Get out of my face,”
and then, to the shock of millions, reaches in and kisses Hummel.
“I just got the script like any other
script,” Adler
told MTV News.
“I was reading that scene, and Kurt,
he just doesn't let up. He keeps on me and he keeps on me, and I
thought, 'I'm going to punch him in the face. This is getting
serious.' And then I turn the page, and it says: 'Karofsky kisses
Kurt.' And I was like, 'What?' I jumped off the couch. I was as
shocked as anybody else was. It was totally unexpected.”
“So, yeah, first time I've kissed a
guy,” Adler added, “and I'm glad it was Chris Colfer!”
In an earlier interview with gay
celebrity website Zap2It.com, Adler
suggested there might be romance brewing between the two. Glee
ringmaster Ryan Murphy has reiterated his commitment to partnering
Hummel this season, but isn't talking specifics.
