Max Adler, who plays Chris Colfer's
tormentor on the Fox musical-comedy Glee, suggests there might
be romance brewing between the pair.
On the show, Adler plays Dave Karofsky,
who bullies gay McKinley High student Kurt Hummel, played by Colfer,
presumably because he's gay.
On Tuesday's episode, Hummel chases
down Karofsky into the men's locker room after Karofsky slams him
into a row of lockers in the hallway.
“Do not push me Hummel,” Karofsky
warns with a fist.
“Hit me, because it's not going to
change who I am,” Hummel responds. “You can't punch the gay out
of me any more than I can punch the ignoramus out of you.”
Karofsky yells, “Get out of my face,”
and then, to the shock of millions, reaches in and kisses Hummel.
The episode, suggestively titled Never
Been Kissed, also featured newcomer Darren Criss, who plays
Blaine, an out and proud student from a rival glee club named the
Dalton Academy Warblers. Criss'
performance of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream has earned him high
praise from fans.
Whether Hummel finds romance with
either student is still unknown, but
in an interview with celebrity website ZapToIt.com, Adler said
his character is sweet on Hummel.
He said fans of the show “want me to
be Kurt's protector and his big teddy bear and want Kurt and Blaine
to be just friends.” And added, “You heard Kurt. He thinks I'm
a chubby guy who sweats too much. So I don't see him being sexually
attracted to me, but obviously I am to him.”
