Singers Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert are
taking on Europe.
Lady Gaga's outrageous Monster Ball
Tour kicked off with a performance in Dublin, Ireland. She'll return
stateside after performing two shows in Paris, France near the end of
December.
After a show in Zagreb on Friday, the
Alejandro singer tweeted to her nearly 7 million fans: “Never
could I have imagined the connection we share. Hrvatska, 2nite there
was no politic, no economy, no society. Just us. Monster ball.”
Lady Gaga, who is openly bisexual,
urged senators in September to vote to repeal “Don't Ask, Don't
Tell,” the law that bans gay and bisexual troops from serving
openly. At a rally, held near the University of Southern Maine and
tiled #4THE14K, a reference to the nearly 14,000 gay and lesbian
soldiers discharged under the policy, Lady Gaga made an impassioned
plea for Congress to end the policy.
“Equality is the prime rib of
America,” she said, referring to a meat dress she wore to the MTV
Video Music Awards. “But because I am gay, I don't get to enjoy
the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer.”
The
28-year-old singer also released a video imploring her fans to join
the cause.
Lambert, the American Idol
season 8 runner up, kicks off the European leg of his Glam Nation
tour on Saturday with a performance in Helsinki, Finland. His final
show before heading home will be in London on November 29.
An
E! True
Hollywood Story set
to premiere on November 21 will profile the rock star's meteoric rise
to fame.
In the hour-long special, the
28-year-old talks about his decision to share his personal life with
his fans.
“My fans have been really supportive
of my choice to be open and upfront about my sexuality and my
lifestyle,” Lambert says. “I have come from the belief that
hiding something from people and manipulating what they think of you
is far more offensive and disrespectful than just being upfront and
being who you are.”
At a tour stop in Malaysia, Lambert
urged troubled gay teens considering suicide to ignore the hate and
focus on the love.
