Singer Ricky Martin says he has
completed his coming out gay memoir.
“OK, after working for more than a
year on my book, I can finally say it's finished!!!” Martin tweeted
Thursdays to his 1.3 million followers.
Martin has previously credited writing
the book for his March decision to come out gay.
“From the moment I wrote the first
phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me
free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time.
Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside,” he said in a
statement. “Writing this account of my life, I got very close to
my truth. And this is something worth celebrating.”
The thirty-eight-year-old father of
twin boys Valentino and Matteo announced he's gay on his official
website: “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man.
I am very blessed to be who I am.”
He's gone on to open up a bit about his
love life, revealing to People en Espanol that he's been
involved with a Puerto Rican man for the last year, and supports
marriage equality.
“Argentina, nation that is pensive,
tolerant and just has made history by saying YES to gay marriage!”
he tweeted in Spanish after lawmakers approved a gay marriage law.
“Example for the rest of Latin America! Congratulations!”
Martin said his book, titled ME,
will be released on November 2 from publisher Celebra/Penguin.
