Stopping gay marriage ranked lowest among issues faced by conservatives, according a straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

CPAC is the three-day conservative meet-up that took place over the weekend at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Conservative media personality Glenn Beck was the event's keynote speaker.

Reducing the size of the federal government topped the list of most important issues to conservatives with 35% of respondents making it their first choice and 17% their second.

Stopping gay marriage ranked lowest with only 1% of attendees making it their second choice.

“Priorities man, priorities,” said conservnut at the conservative blog hotair.com. “Gay issues are not on the … gaydar as it were.”

The survey polled 2,395 out of 10,000 registered CPAC attendees, 48% of whom were students. Men made up 64% of participants.

When asked if promoting “traditional values by protecting traditional marriage and protecting the life of the unborn” was a core belief and ideology, only 9% agreed.
