Transgender anarchist Ariel Attack
pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of vandalism against a Democratic
Party office in Denver, Colorado, the Colorado Independent
reported.
Police, who arrested Attack as she made
her escape on bicycle, accused her of smashing eleven windows at the
Colorado Democratic Party headquarters in August. Her alleged
accomplice remains unnamed.
Attack was fined $5,000 and given a one
year probation for pleading guilty to a second-degree misdemeanor.
“To everyone who has had my back
these past months, with everything from letters and cash to
screenprinting, fashion advice, words, and all that intangible 'I got
your back' stuff, thank you! And, yeah, it was fun!” she said in a
post at the Denver
Anarchist Black Cross website.
Attack is listed as an “occasional
contributor” to Queers
Against Obama, which includes the tagline, “Stonewall was a
riot NOT a candlelight vigil.”
Supporters have responded to mounting
legal bills with the sale of t-shirts and fashion accessories. A
benefit is also being planned.
“We'll be selling accessories made
from glass shards to benefit Ariel's court fee's, they're a little
pricey, starting at $200 for a necklace, and significantly more for
the glass fans, but they are genuine Democratic Headquarters glass,
so they are totally collector items,” a posting at The
Boulevardier says.
