Advocating for gay marriage is a
homicidal endeavor, argues one opponent.
According to a statement released by
Bob Peters, president of Morality in Media, the gay rights movement
is directly linked to the epidemic of mass murders currently
overwhelming America.
In an April 4 press release titled
'Connecting the Dots: The Link Between Gay Marriage and Mass
Murders', Peters argues that gay marriage advocates have fueled
the environment responsible for the murderous mayhem.
Peters notes that the “underlying
problem is that increasingly we are in a 'post-Christian' society,
where Judeo-Christian faith and values have less and less influence.
... This secular value system is also reflected in the 'sexual
revolution', which is the driving force behind the push for 'gay
marriage'; and the Iowa Supreme Court decision is another indication
that despite all the damage this revolution has caused to children,
adults, family life and society, it continues to advance
relentlessly.”
Then adds, “It most certainly is not
my intention to blame the epidemic of mass murders on the gay rights
movement!”
“Talk about exploiting a tragedy to
advance an agenda,” David Corn at 'Mothers Jones' groans.
“In his statement on gay marriage and
mass murder, Peters notes that Christianity and Judaism teach 'that
we are to love our neighbors and ourselves and to forgive others'.
But on the subject of gay marriage, he does seem to have a rather
unforgiving approach,” Corn adds.
Arguments that link violence with the
modern gay rights movement have become increasingly louder as more
states move to recognize gay and lesbian unions. Utah Senator Chris
Buttars and Oklahoma Representative Sally Kern have both labeled gay
rights advocates “terrorists.” And in his book 'The Pink
Swastika: Homosexuality in the Nazi Party', Scott Lively, the
founder of Abiding Truth Ministries, links the movement to violent
events that took place in Nazi Germany and argues that gay rights are
“dangerous.”
