A website registered in New York is
promising a gay cure for $12.99. The site at hocdfree.com is
registered to Patrick Ortner of Tonawanda, New York, and promises to
cure Homosexual Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (HOCD) “faster than
you ever thought possible.”
At the site, Ortner shares his
experience with HOCD that has haunted him all his life and praises
the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) that finally cured him.
“My name is Patrick and I am a
completely recovered sufferer of HOCD. I had this problem since I
was 12 years old. ... To constantly obsess that you might be gay
others may think your gay for years is damaging to your quality of
life,” Ortner explains.
“The challenge never ended. ... The
fear, doubt, and anxiety had taken over my life. I knew I had to do
something.”
“I finally found this energy therapy
called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). The simple theory behind
it, was that it removed the emotional charge of negative emotions and
experiences. ... I could use it to reprogram myself.”
“Within a matter of a couple of weeks
my inner and outer behavior had been cleared of HOCD. I was free to
be me. Free to flirt and date girls. Free to fall in love, and most
of all free to enjoy my life.”
Ortner promises to cure anyone 100% in
7 days or less with his $12.99 pamphlet.
“In fact, many people who apply what
you're about to learn become totally free from their residual fears,
doubts, obsessions and other related anxiety symptoms in as little as
20 minutes,” Ortner says.
“People who are acting out unwanted
sexual behaviors don't need to pay [ex-gay group] Exodus boot camps
hundreds of dollars per week, and they don't need to pay $12.99 to
down-on-their-luck dudes from suburban Buffalo,” said Truth Wins
Out President Wayne Besen on the group's blog. “Celibacy is free,
folks – that may be one reason why ex-gay political activists
rarely discuss it.
