Brian Mason, a deputy clerk for Rowan
County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, told BuzzFeed News on Wednesday
that he'll continue issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian
couples even if Davis prohibits him from doing so.
Davis served five days in jail for
refusing to comply with a federal judge's ruling ordering her to
issue marriage licenses to all qualified couples. Davis has said
that issuing
marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples was a “heaven or hell”
decision for her.

Davis was freed on the condition she
not interfere with deputy clerks issuing marriage licenses.
Mason was asked if he would issue the
licenses even if Davis said he is not allowed. He
answered, “Yes.”
Davis could return to work as early as
Friday, according to her lawyer.
