Jeb Bush: I Don't Think Gays Should Be Discriminated Against

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has endorsed legislation which would ban discrimination against LGBT Americans at the state level.

Bush, the former governor of Florida, made his comments Thursday while speaking to employees at San Francisco tech startup Thumbtack.

A self-identified gay employee asked Bush about his position on such legislation.

“I don't think you should be discriminated because of your sexual orientation. Period. Over and out,” Bush is quoted as answering by Time.

When asked whether he would support laws protecting LGBT Americans in the areas of housing and employment, Bush answered that he would, but not at the federal level.

“I think this should be done state-by-state,” he said. “I totally agree with that.”

Bush's Silicon Valley-themed day also included a ride in an Uber car (pictured) and the launch of his LinkedIn profile.
