A group has released a video asking for
tolerance for those who feel “oppressed” by gay marriage.
In the nearly 3-minute video by
Catholic Vote, teary-eyed young people reveal their opposition to the
Supreme Court's recent ruling striking down state bans on gay
marriage.
Young Catholics at first tell viewers
that they are apprehensive about revealing their true feelings.
“I am a little bit nervous about
people kind of hearing that I am this way and then thinking, 'Well
she's not welcome here,'” one woman says.
“I would say I'm different,” a man
says. “Real different.”
All state that they believe “marriage
is between a man and a woman.”
“No one should be looked down upon.
No one should be suppressed. No one's views should be suppressed,”
a man says.
Another man says he “loves” his gay
friends, then adds: “What I do feel insecure about is speaking from
the heart and being really open and honest about what I believe.”

A video by YouTube
comedian Soundly Awake has three people who say they feel
oppressed because of their sexist and racist views.
“Nobody's views should be suppressed,
especially if they oppress marginalized groups of people,” a woman
tells viewers.
The video ends with the caption, “It's
just my opinion. But it's also the truth. But it's just my
opinion.”
