Digital tabloid TMZ.com wondered last
week whether Michael Sam and Vito Cammisano have called off their
six-month engagement and broken up.
“[I]t seems Michael Sam and his
fiance Vito Cammisano are DUNZO,” the
site reported.
TMZ pointed to several “clues,”
including the removal on social media of the couple's engagement
picture taken at St. Peter's Basilica and the lack of public
appearances.

“The couple hasn't been spotted
together in almost 2 months … even when Sam left the Montreal
Alouettes under mysterious circumstances earlier this month,” the
site wrote.
US
Weekly quoted an unnamed source as saying that the pair have
been “rocky for months.”
Sam, the NFL's first openly gay player,
and Cammisano first started dating in 2011 while attending the
University of Missouri. A kiss shared between the men when Sam was
drafted to the St. Louis Rams in 2014 angered social conservatives
opposed to same-sex relationships.
